Association Jeanne Jugan
The Association Jeanne Jugan offers to Catholic men and women the opportunity of sharing in the spirituality of the Little Sisters of the Poor, of participating in their mission of hospitality, and of helping to spread the charism of Saint Jeanne Jugan in various social and professional milieus.
After a year of spiritual preparation, new members are inducted into the Association Jeanne Jugan on May 1st, the feast of St. Joseph, patron of the Little Sisters of the Poor.

- Visiting Residents who are hospitalized, room-bound or in need of special attention
- Helping with the meal service
- Assuring a comforting presence with the dying Residents

Lend a Helping Hand and Volunteer
Volunteers provide our Residents with the extra attention that makes all the difference in their lives.
Volunteers also provide invaluable support in many areas of our Home, both in direct contact with the elderly and through indirect services in various departments.
Although they render much service, through their contact with the elderly, volunteers receive much more than they give.
Some volunteer opportunities in the Home include:
- Visiting with Residents
- Assisting with activities, crafts, chair exercise programs
- Assisting with serving Residents’ meals
- “Hidden services” such as folding clothes, ironing, vegetable preparation, etc.
- Driving and/or accompanying Residents for appointments, shopping, etc.

Young Helpers Are Always Welcome
The Hospitality Club is a wonderful opportunity for girls 13-17 years old to share their contagious joy and youthfulness with the elderly.
The group meets on the third Saturday of each month between 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Our Residents love to meet with the young! Each Saturday meeting includes:
- Mass with the Residents and Little Sisters
- Serving the Residents their noon meal
- Sharing a meal and fellowship with the Little Sisters and each other
- Activities with the Residents in the afternoon
Hospitality Club members also help with holidays and special events.
If you are interested in joining the Hospitality Club, email Liana DeVilbiss at volsbaltimore@littlesistersofthepoor.org.
If you would like to volunteer on your own, email volsbaltimore@littlesistersofthepoor.org
