Thank You for Supporting Our Inaugural Golf Tournament
The Little Sisters of the Poor adopted a new habit!
We launched our First Annual Golf Tournament on Monday, October 20 to support the Residents at St. Martin’s Home. Our theme, “We Are Family,” drew together friends, families, and members of our community from all around.
We took the need to the tees – and had plenty of fun along the way! It was a beautiful, sunny day (with just a touch of wind.) Our opening prayer began, “May the wind be always at your back.” Our golfers took that to heart, choosing to “tee it high and let it fly,” all while remembering to “putt responsibly.”
We were graciously hosted by Rolling Road Golf Club, where the course – tucked amid beautiful trees – became the canvas and the golfers the artists. It’s a good thing everyone had their daily dose of iron before they gripped it and ripped it!
As they say, golf satisfies the soul – and we followed that sentiment with inspiring words from our friend and guest speaker, Mark Viviano, who reminded us that faith and action go hand in hand.
Thanks to our sponsors, donors, volunteers, and ninety-nine registered participants, we finished well under par – proving once again that the grass is always greener on the golf course.
